Ritual + Communion : A Women’s Circle

com·mun·ion :
the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially when the exchange is on a mental or spiritual level.

Ritual + Communion will be the resulting alchemy of combining a traditional women's circle, open discussion similar to group therapy, and participating in a themed ritual that revolves around creating spiritual practices to help deepen personal growth. It will be a monthly gathering that enhances sisterhood, healing, and deep connections.

This group will go on a journey of growth, with each month’s theme directly enhancing the work of the previous month. So, after all our gatherings, you will have experienced a sequential and powerful experience of personal transformation. It is also my most affordable offering, where a woman can experience the type of therapeutic work I do with individual clients, within a safe community, and at a lower cost.

Ritual + Communion was created by a new-age woman, for the new-age woman — and for those looking to unite under the practices of spirituality, open communication, and loving support.

Ritual + Communion is currently on a break.

Updates on the next round coming soon — sign up for my email list to stay informed on our next gatherings!

FAQ’s

What can I expect? Is this a coven?!

I wish! (just kidding… kinda.) Each gathering will begin with an introduction of our monthly theme, along with a discussion led by me, Ferny Barcelo. From there, we’ll go into self-inquiry work in the form of writing prompts, meditations, and/or visualization work. We will then open the circle up to sharing and discussion, where each woman can share their own experiences with the monthly theme, which I will facilitate. Finally, we will close with a short ritual, and an invitation to continue the work we did in the form of homework, journaling, or online group discussions.

When will the group be held?

R+C will be held on the last Monday of the month, from January to June, at the Wanderlust Yoga downtown studio. The group is 2 hours long, and we ask that participants make space to stay for the entirety of the group. If there is ever a change of time or location, group members will be notified with enough time to make arrangements.

Who is this group good for?

Ritual + Communion was created for women who are seeking a place to have open discussions about deeper issues, and want to form connections with other women who are going through similar healing journeys and personal evolutions. Ideal for those interested in taking a bit of a spiritual approach to their growth, and who are looking to gain support from sharing their stories with other women. This is not for those who want to stay in the light, superficial levels of sharing — in other words, this won’t be coffee talk we’re having here. Come prepared to get vulnerable and to dig deep.

R + C welcomes all women / women-identifying human beings over the age of 18 who have an open mind, an appreciation for the esoteric, a longing for emotional growth and creating sisterhood.

What are the upcoming themes for each month?

STAY TUNED FOR OUR NEXT ROUND. . .

Sounds groovy. How do I join?

Choose your level of commitment — anything from one to six months — and purchase your spot in the above links. You can drop in for as many or as few as you like. Your purchase guarantees your place in the group, and you will receive a confirmation email a few days before our gathering, with all the information you need to prepare. Only attendees who have purchased a space have a guaranteed spot. There will be no walk-ins on the evening of our circle, and group size will be capped at a predetermined number. Registration closes an hour before our gatherings, or when we reach the full group size.

Why should I purchase a longer commitment than one month?

R + C is designed to be a continual container of healing, meaning each month will carry something into the other, allowing the work we do to progress fluidly. Each month, for half a year, we will focus on a different theme — everything from clarifying your values, self-compassion work, shadow work, and creating an fully authentic life. Come summer, we’ll have done 6 month’s worth of transformative, therapeutic work that will leave you feeling clear about who you really are, and what your most aligned life looks like. This is why some women may benefit from a longer commitment. Also, you never have to worry about making sure you have a place at our gatherings, and you will 100% benefit from the regularity of the process and the bonds formed with other women throughout.

That being said, you can also choose to buy the one-time attendance whenever you decide you’d like to drop in!

How do you honor privacy? Can I join if I’m already an existing client of yours?

Everyone in the group will sign a privacy waiver, asking them not share what is discussed in the group with anyone outside of it. If you are a current client of mine, you can most definitely join us. This group was created because so many of my clients were experiencing feelings of isolation from their issues, and I wanted them to meet women who were going through the same journey! Ethically, I am required to not acknowledge you as a client in public, so you don’t have to worry about ever being singled out if we’ve worked together before.

What happens if I want to continue our conversations with women in the group outside of the R + C gatherings?

I created a private Slack group specifically for the women of R + C, where have continual conversations on the themes discussed in our group. It will also be a place where we can share insights, ask questions, and connect safely outside of our in-person gatherings. You will receive access to this at your first group meeting. And getting together in-person with women you meet in the group is super encouraged! Just make sure you respect and keep private what was discussed.

Can I get a refund if I miss an R + C gathering?

Unfortunately, I cannot offer refunds at this time. If you do have to miss, please send me a message as soon as possible, in order to offer up that space to others who may be interested. If you have made a 3-month or longer commitment, send me a message and we can discuss rolling over a missed gathering to one in the future.
